Being unusual

Lyrics Explanation by tros

Atashi wa futsuu janai kara toka ika ni mo kenzen na kansei
Sonna no doko ni demo aru kara daijoubu
Konna no wa futsuu janai kara tte yubi sashite waratteiru
Dake de owatteku to ka sore de daijoubu?

“I’m not a normal” or something like that. Seemingly healthy sensitivity.
That’s something you can find anywhere, so It’s alright.
Just because this isn’t normal, they point and laugh.
Is it okay if it all ends with that?

Hito to chigau no ga futsuu de zureteru kara hikaru no ni
Sono kosei wo daiji ni to ka waraeru kami ka yo
Mukatsuku

“Being different from others is normal because it makes us shine.”
“Treasure your individuality.” So funny. Are you a god or what?
I’m pissed off.

Chanto shiteru no ni itsumo okashikute
Sore demo kore shika nakatta
Dareka ga iu hen nante seizei taka ga futsuu no hen da
Okotteru? betsu ni futsuu

I try to do it properly, but it always seems strange.
Yet, this is all I have.
When someone call it abnormal, it’s just a normal-abnormal to me.
Angry?. No, it’s normal.

Kaodashi nante shinakutemo doko ni demo aru utagoe de
Ari kitari wo utattereba daijoubu
Baka mitai ni mawattereba sugu ni ichioku saisei toppa
Jigoku saisei kanou na fu no enerugii

No need to show your face, Sing with a voice that anyone can have.
Singing something ordinary, it’ll be fine.
If you keep going around like a fool, you’ll quickly surpass 100 million views.
Hell, renewable negative energy.

Tamaranaku itoshii kara soba de warattete ne
Kono saki ni nani ga atemo zutto mamotte ageru
Mukatsuku

I love you so much, so please smile by my side.
No matter what lies ahead, I will always protect you.
I’m pissed off.

Chanto shiteru kara dokoka okashikute
Futsuu ga aru kara kutsuu de
Dareka no naka ni konote wo tsukkonde hikizuridasu
Mukatsuku

I try to do things properly, so there’s always something strange.
The concept of normality feels suffocating.
Stick my hand inside of someone and pull them out.
I’m pissed off.

Chanto shiteru no ni itsumo okashikute
Sore demo kore shika nakatta
Dareka ga iu hen nante seizei taka ga futsuu no hen da
Okotteru? betsu ni futsuu

I try to do it properly, but it always seems strange.
Yet, this is all I have.
When someone call it abnormal, it’s just a normal-abnormal to me.
Angry? No, it’s normal.

Artist: Ano
Released: 2022
Album: Fuhen
Songwriter:Sekaikan Ozaki

Today’s song is “fuhen” by ano.
ano’s major 2nd single “Fuhen” is characterized by an impressive guitar riff that starts from the intro, which is by Yukichika Ogawa of CreepHyp. The lyrics and composition are handled by Sekaikan Ozaki of CreepHyp, whom ano has admired for a long time. It was after a radio show appearance together that ano asked Ozaki to provide a song. And ano

What’s interesting is that when I first heard this song, it happened to come up on shuffle, and I immediately recognized the distinctive sound of CreepHyp! I was intrigued and started exploring more of Ano’s music. That’s the beauty of shuffle function, isn’t it?

About “ano” chan

ano has been gaining popularity recently as a Japanese TV personality for her “edgy” and “adorable” image. She has a unique way of speaking that sets her apart from “normal” people and often becomes the target of playful teasing. This song truly showcases her charisma and individuality.
She used to be a member of the idol group “You’ll Melt More!” and has been actively pursuing her music career as a solo artist and a talent. Since 2021, she has also been serving as the vocalist and guitarist for the band I’s.

What exactly “Fuhen” is.

Ozaki’s songwriting skills are reflected in the title of this song, “普変 / Fuhen,” which is pronounced the same as “普遍 / universal” in Japanese.

  • 普遍 / Fu – hen . . . translates to “Universal.”
  • 普変 / Fu – hen . . . combines “normal” and “abnormal,”
represented as “通の / Futsu no Hen.

Even from a Japanese perspective, it may appear to be a word that could exist at first glance (though this might just be my perception), but in reality, it’s a coined term that has the same pronunciation as a common word.

In the music video, we can see Ano actually scrolling through social media and witnessing derogatory comments like “Ano’s way of speaking is creepy.” It’s not just limited to social media, but when people say you’re different, it’s like, “So what? Let’s just brush it off, damn it.” I also want to live thinking that those who talk behind others’ backs are just supporting actors.

Furthermore, there’s a video called “Reading Creep Hyp” on YouTube, which became the catalyst for this song’s creation. Please take a look at it and feel free to share any advice or questions you may have!
